Hello

I have recently bought my first Fulvia 1.3s Series 2 1972.
My question regards the Idle/Pilot Jets. Firstly, with regards to their design, should the small hole at the base connect through to the large hole at the top where the screwdriver slot is? If it should then all of mine are blocked!
Secondly, the size marked on them is 47, however, the 4th edition Instruction Book states 47.5?
Can anyone shed any light please.

Thanks

Yes they should be blocked! they may be 47.5 but ou cannot stamp the .5 and this is only 5/1000 of a mm so not really significant in the scheme of things. You tend to adjust the idle jet if necessary in integer steps of 2 or 5 if this jet needs to be changed to improved the transition phase from idle to main jet with today's more volatile fuels.

If there is hesitaion on acceleration at about 2000 rpm you should increase the size perhaps by 25%.   I did on my series II 1600 with great improvement.

This is mostly related to 1600's. I and a few other 1600 owners now run at 55 or 60 for improved transition with the solex 42's. Not heard much about standard 1300's having this problem with solex 35's when everything else is in order (valve timing, ignition timing, good compression, and valve tappet clearances).
