ok, so new year, time for update on the italians performance in January (the most up to date figs to hand)

comparison of jan 07 - jan 08

Lancia down from 11792, to 10964
Fiat up from 86676 to 93348
Alfa down from 14032 to 8137
Ferrari up from 297 to 331
maserati up from 315 to 394

Winners & losers so far

winners.....
Lancia Musa up from 3572 to 4125
Fiat 500 sold 14704, it outsold BMW's Mini (12462)
Fiat Bravo sold 9114
Fiat Croma, seems the facelift helped stopped the drought in sales (2758) though the Mondeo sold 17807 in the same period!

Losers....
Everything Alfa Romeo, though closure of plant for 3 months hardly helps
Alfa 166, not one sold!
Panda & Ypsilon are feeling the effects of the 500, Panda's sales are down for the first time since it was launched in 2003, & Ypsilon is suffering also.
Fiat Punto down from 37018 to 30695
Maserati Quattroporte down from 194 to 122

anyone wants figs on anything else sold from any manufacter just ask Grin

Hi Mark,
I see in Practical Classics April 2008 they are running articles on "Endangered Species" which is about cars in danger of extinction in the Uk, due to the small numbers left.

The source for their figures is the SMMT(Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders, for those not familiar with them) Motorparc publication, which is a tailored report based on data supplied by the DVLA.
Do you have access to this, as I'd love to know how many Fulvia 2c Saloons are still registered? Grin
