Tatting with Augusta as quite a lot of time on my hands and note clutch plate worn down almost to rivets. A) has anybody a relined plate to sell or B) tell me the thickness of the linings so I can get it done and C) who would they recommend to do the job?
I may have to resort to using a Lancia when going off to do my essential shopping as the only opportunity I might have this year. Should have SORN'd!!

Hello,

Here I have a source which states: outside dia. 167 mm   inside dia. 115 mm,   thickness 3,17 mm

In my (humble) experience the thickness could be up to 3,4 mm.

I think soft material would be better. A shop which does brake linings (for drum brakes) shoul be able to do the job.

Hi Brian.  Check back on the old Augusta newsletters from Morris, he did an item on upgrading to a modern-ish escort plate an a standard hub

I had the Dilambda clutch relined by this guy in 2012 and I think that his son runs the business now.

I had forgotten the Augusta Newsletters - although I still use the "Conseils Practique" article translated by Andrew Maclagan in the 1974 LMC Journal Augusta edition for all basic engine info .
Dave Gee gave me the details of a local chap working in his shed who did a great job in 5 days as luckily the metalwork was all fine but was a non-OE thicker than usual plate grafted onto a standard central spline. Probably done in the postwar years when bits impossible to get. 3.2mm material put on.

Tony Pugh was still in action last Summer when I needed some shoes lining. A very knowledgeable chap whom I have used for years.

is 3.2mm standard clutch plate material thickness across the board for Lancia? It rings a bell with me for Aurelia cluches whatever diameter.
I  had a problem in the distant past when I put a standard new friction plate (from a well known supplier) in a clutch assembly which had had both internal friction surfaces lightly skimmed due to scoring. The springs were also new and yet the clutch slipped.
My solution was to have another friction plate relined in slightly thicker material and I also put 'penny' washers under the springs taking care to ensure there was still movement when compressed.
