Hi I am looking to acquire a Lambda and have  sourced a car fairly local to me in North Hampshire near Farnham. Has any body got a good connection with a mechanic who might look over the car for me as this would be my first foray into Lambda motoring. grateful for any suggestions.

Nick Benwell comes to mind, but he could well be the one selling it to you!

I was going to suggest Nick Benwell. .....He runs the vintage restoration outfit at the Pheonix Inn , just outside Hartney Wintney....
If I recall, he helped Christo with his purchase of a Lambda!

Thanks for your help chaps regarding this and your encouraging comments. I have owned a Fulva Sport for nearly 40 years so this is a big change for me! I have indeed met Nick and he has a car  am looking at but another has popped up! Nick is a charming chap but I do need a second opinion just to be sure ...this is a lot of money for us!!

Specialists aside, I fear the biggest unexpected surprises are to be found inside the engine.  No original block I've seen the past three years (and I've seen a few believe me) was in good condition.
Luckily there are new engines being built in Italy, but there is a price tag attached.  That's the biggest gamble in a Lambda purchase in my opinion...and off course it's not possible to have a peek inside, even for a 'specialist', unless it's about a dismanteled project car.

I would have thought Jonathan Wood of Clock House Workshop, Little Sampford Essex, would be a one stop engineer/mechanic/re-furbisher to sort anything & everything.

Being part of the P&A Wood family, comes from a good pedigree & he certainly has a passion for the Lancia marque.

Cordialement et bon chance,

Stuart.
