I am having trouble selecting reverse gear. When the car is cold selecting reverse gear is OK (ish) but when the car somewhat warmer I find it hard to find the gate.
Please excuse my ignorance but are there any adjustments which can be made outside the gearbox which control the movement of the lever or is the problem within the box itself?
Has anybody got any thoughts? Thank you.

Might well be a problem of wear in the external wobbly bits that were fitted to change from a column change. When I rebuilt the Sport  I found that there were at least 2 types of linkage (ball and socket or loop and bolt (excuse my lack of technical vocabulary)) on my gearboxes. Access might be tricky without dropping subframe but I fettled mine first so cannot give authorative opinion. May be better on coupe anyway.

Coupes did not have column changes but the gearbox externally was the same as the 1500cc saloon so they needed to add the external linkage which of course is open to the elements under the floor.

At last I managed to get my car up on a car lift. All linkages and joints etc are good and free from play.  Since the car was last serviced (and what that was I do not know other than an oil change) lots of dry areas have appeared which I have tackled but not this one. The gear change mechanism has been lubricated and is notably easier. Slight pressure from the knee eases the lever into reverse gear selection.  The four forward gears are now a dream to use.
