Will How has alerted me to a Dilambda to be auctioned by Bonhams at The Grand Palais Paris 7th February.

https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/25339/lot/238/

Some of you will recognise it (and indeed, from the stories I've heard, have fond memories of it) as belonging to the late Arthur Keeling who was very active in the LMC until his death in the early 1980s.  It was sold at auction around 1985 and features on page 72 of the 1st edition of Weernink's La Lancia.

It has an almost identical (apart from the trunk) Carlton Carriage Co. body to the one I fitted to Modestine in 2002 and with Will's help and the Italian Lancia Club I tracked Arthur's car down to the private collection of Sig Umberto Genovese near Venice. He very kindly allowed me to view, measure and photograph it in order to get some idea of what to aim for in converting the body I had purchased to fit my car and this Margaret and I did.

The rest as they say is history.  http://www.lancia.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1239.0

I shall of course be most interested to see what it sells for. The estimate would seem to me to be on the high side, especially as it has an English body and the Italians particularly prefer Italian coachwork. However, Dilambda are rare beasts and this one appears to be in fine fettle. Nothing quite like bowling along with a 4 litre V8 burbling away!

Robin.
