This looked worth rescuing if genuine. Claimed to be a works hf with period competition history

I am not convinced some of the claims stack up, there were over 25 official 1.3 HFs chassis numbers listed(818.340) in the Weernink Fulvia book, not 8, some did have VAR 1014 engines, it is unclear which they were, importantly this chassis number is not listed in that book nor in Enzo Altorio's Fulvia book.  Possibly a privateer HF with a 1.4 works engine later?   Deep pockets to restore this one I suspect, the roof looks badly damaged.

Chassis # looks like 001383

This is not listed as a works 1.3HF according to my records that have been exhaustively researched.

Could well be a privateer.

Lancia made 882 1.3HF's of which 28 were taken from production in batches for works cars. this number is not near any batch. 2 F&M's were in this number. 4 works 1.3HF are known to possibly survive.

A nicely restored 1.3HF could be worth c50,000eu. A works car with provenance who knows.... A restored privateer car could be worth a bit more than a standard car.

It will cost a hellava lot to restore this one.

I agree with that chassis number from the photo in the listing,  rarity is in its favour, but appears not be a ex-works car.

Looking again, it has the "works" modified fuel filler flap above the swageline. Wonder what is in the boot? Should be a 70 or 80 liter tank. The flap has a lock now but on the dubious period photos it is shown with the correct push button. Also lap/ diagonal seatbelts and no sign of a roll bar?? Colour is wrong too, and no longitudinal blue/yellow stripe

I am not an expert like you guys but it`s my understanding the works cars had a roller at the ends of the front leaf springs to lower them and give better handling for competition?

some did some didnt. More appropriate to later efforts esp wrt track competition.

I'm with Neil and Tim in not being convinced that this is entirely what it's cracked up to be. It doesn't have the look of a well prepared rally car let alone a works one although a few more photos would be helpful. Having owned an ex-Oliver Speight ex-Jolly Club 1.3HF it seems to be missing some of the expected details like full harness seat belts, roll cage, back seat tool and spares holder etc. I'm pretty sure that 1.3HFs had 13" Campagnolo wheels as in the rally pictures in the listing rather than what look like Cromodora wheels.

It also seems strange to me that there is no reserve listed. As Tim points out a fully restored road car could fetch 50,000 euros and if it has the provenance stated then the sky's the limit! I can't think that if the seller believes that he has a very special car he would risk not having a good reserve. Off the top of my head say £25,000.

If I were in the market for it (which I'm most certainly not!) I would want to spend a day going over it with a fine toothed comb, sifting through all the photos and documents he says are available and then do some in depth research.

So, if you want one of the rarer Fulvias and could do most of the work yourself (it can be done!)certainly worth a punt at the right price but caveat emptor.

There is an outside chance it could be a factory HFS, but this would have the 80 ltr petrol tank and front Koni shocks. From one of the pics the front shock is snapped and looks like a standard deCarbon unit. The HFS should have the rare C40DDHF carbs.... Ferrero Munari steering wheel... and 13" Campagnolas (rare to find without a car attached)

I see folk are bidding on this. Go look!

I had some correspondence with him during the first listing and asked for some additional info (chassis, engine numbers, photos of unique HF pieces etc) that was not forthcoming, his tone was very condescending and I walked away
