I know that some of the committee would like someone to take this on and organise a stand........

The London Classic Car Show is the award-winning must-attend event for any discerning classic car owner, collector, expert or enthusiast and was created by Brand Events, leading innovators in motor shows. Following the hugely successful launch four years ago, the event continues to bring new features and popular exhibitors & dealers each year.
In 2019 we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of 'The Italian Job', 60th Anniversary of the Mini and the greatest Aero-Engine cars in history. We also see the return of Historic Motorsport, Car Club square, Auto Jumble and of course, the ‘Grand Avenue’, our indoor runway where visitors get to hear, see and smell Classic Cars in action.

Lancias & LMC @ London Classic Car Show

The club is attending the London Classic Car on February 14-17th at the EXCEL Exhibition Centre at the Royal Victoria Docks.
As well has showing a range of Lancias on its stand, some iconic models will be performing daily on the Grand Avenue.

The organisers of the London Classic Car have informed me that they have an exclusive offer for car clubs, if you are considering selling your car you could display your car at a cost.

We have a limited number of positions available on "Memory Lane" the place where private sellers can showcase their car for sale.
 
Before going to the wider audience, we would like to offer all members of Car Clubs that are attending The London Classic Car Show, the opportunity to showcase any classic car for sale, for the cost of £300 + VAT (standard fee £450 + VAT)

I went to this show last year..........what a pity we did not have the Lancia stand then....
I was generally disappointed in the show.....................far too many shiny expensive cars, and so will not bother this time....
Still great to see the Lancia Name  at this show.

And, the ex-Steady Barker Astura perhaps better known as 'The Short Arstura' !

We have an excellent position just inside the main entrance and although I haven't been directly involved with the organisers they appear to me to be very helpful and concerned that all is OK with our stand, even if an electrical supply was prohibitively expensive. And a pint of beer at £5.75!

Constant stream of visitors today proving just how popular Lancia cars are. It's amazing how many people have them stored away awaiting restoration. A report of an unknown model languishing behind a pub to be followed up. Nice to have several club members visiting for a chat.

A couple of new members signed up and several application forms taken.

Just to add to my earlier post. I did notice other Lancias on other stands, including the Astura Special, which I didn’t photo because it was then almost concealed behind a hoarding. I did photo the story-board (attached), which sets out how this remarkable car came to be. I understand that it is now very driveable.

I also saw the Integrale Martini being driven on the parade – I thought it looked really good and in a restrained way, despite its stripes it understated its power and performance. To my eye the Stratos replica looked a bit tacky and vulgar, but perhaps that’s just me! I didn’t see the B20, although I would have liked to have done – where was it hiding?

Also to say, I thought the LMC stand looked excellent – good choice of cars (and colours!), well positioned by the entrance and well manned by devoted club members.

I couldn't remember if I'd been or not.  Its been dismissed as "a dealer show" and I could understand those used to the scale of the NEC being disappointed, but I had a really nice day out with a friend keen to see the Citroens.

It had the feel of a second hand car lot in places, but interesting cars.  The Lancia stand was smack bang by the entrance so I saved it until last in case a couple of hours went in conversation, then didn't spot anyone I knew and had a go on the wheeling machine, my first go.  Very impressive how (the expert) could bang a dent in with a hammer and have it gone in two mins.  I've heard it elsewhere that its fairly easy to make a pleasing shape, then a lot of expertise to make exactly the same shape again or to get two edges to fit and a shape to flow one piece to another.

The B20 was in "the paddock" which I presumed was cars waiting to go "down the catwalk".  I liked that feature.  The Italian Job display was fun. A treat to see Ogle and Unipower and Deep Sanderson Mini based GTs.  The Citroen display was good.  The one that jumped out was the BX, how had that survived?  It had £13K spent on it in 1991 when it was nine years old.  I guess at that time you could swap a worn drivers seat for a french passenger seat in the same trim and get all the odds and ends either new or from a breakers.  Its the sort of car that a wheeling machine and reliable rechromer isn't going to save.  An Allegro made me smile, and remember particular school friends names.  There was a scruffy GS.  I looked on the "for sale" sites last year and there was a choice with the rotary engine ("Citroen bought them all back, none survive") but only one with reciprocating, they have all but gone...

A scruffy Jenson had been to speed week in the US.  Quite a story.  Gorgeous Porsche spider and a great coffee bar on their stand, but "members only".  Coffee queue for the public not toooo bad, for all it was a double queue system.  We got a half table, everyone very friendly, you'd almost thing it wasn't London.

Prices on cars...I know I'm out of touch BUT?Huh?  Then I realised this WAS London, and if a dealer was going to "ask big" it would be at the London Classic Car show... 

Its a half day not a full day (I stayed well clear of book and tool stands) but an enjoyable half day.
