Bit of a long shot this but here goes; my long serving 1990 Thema 16v has not long gone out of Mot and whilst under it, I've uncovered a bit of rot next to the passengers side rear trailing arm mount at the jacking point which is beyond my skills to repair.
The car itself runs well and has a stainless exhaust from the manifold. It has also had new steering gaiters, water pump and track rod ends fitted just before I uncovered the rot and 4 shocks fitted around this time last year.

Although I do have space to break it, I would prefer it to go to someone as a complete car. It can drive onto a trailer.

Happy to hear from anyone if it's of interest before I call the scrappy.

I also have a 1992 Thema VIS which still has some parts on it but would need dragged/removed with a hiab.

Thanks.

Mrs L has a useful question for me (and similar friends!) which is "what would a normal person do?"

Have you asked the MOT man for a quote to get the welding done?  If they don't do it in house they'd have a "go-to patcher".  Our every day car is a 1987 Mercedes 300TE that "went under the knife" just today. "The art" in our case is to set the standard low, its not a show car, nobody is going to be looking under and asking "those the original floors".

Just a thought before you break this one you know like and trust and take on another with who knows what niggles needing sorting.  We're an extreme case in the "love the one you're with" stakes, had this one since before my youngest was born and she's 14 next week.  247,000 on it.

Had a quick look at this. It's a series 2/3 I'm after though.
