Does anybody know if the Cabriolet hood spring is adjustable - it goes up very nicely and easily, but it is quite a handful to put down?  I have oiled everything and it all seems nice and free just the spring is a bit strong.  Any advice appreciated.

Is there a way to add - say - a couple of chain links to make it longer?  Perhaps modify one of the brackets?

Not sure if anyone is watching this but hood spring adjusted today - they are on a square and who ever fitted it had too much tension (bit scarry getting the tension off!!) so both off and moved round one square - now a super balanced hood.  The more I work on this car the more impressed I am by Lancia engineering.
