Hi Lancia Motor Club UK,

I am currently restoring the car in the header. I am a member of Lancia Club Netherlands (C1608 membernumber). I have heard that there are aluminium front- and rear brake calipers as a subsitute for the Dunlop's produced in the UK. Where can I buy them? Which member of your club is specialized in Flavia's?

Thanks in advance and kind regards, Piet

I presume Piet means wheel cylinders?
If so, I haven't heard of new aluminium ones but I know that stainless steel versions are produced in Germany (I think).
However the last new one I bought from Cavalitto a couple of years ago was steel as originals.

I think Piet is looking for those:

A relative of mine has fitted them to his 1st series Fulvia Sport, and is very happy with them!

This set at Viva Lancia is 2015 EUR which is roughly 1,781.84 GBP. Someone told me there are aluminum versions for 75 GPB each from the UK.

Response from Piet, so unless someone else knows more than Chris and Sebastien, the expensive versions look to be the main options.

Frank

Why not forward the emails to Colin Clamp, guru of all things Flavia? His email address is in the back of VL.

B G Development wheel cylinders look very similar to the ones sold by Huib Geurink (viva-lancia link above):

How do they look pricewise? Also expensive I would think!

In Australia we tend to have the caliper pots resleeved in stainless steel. Not a difficult job for a competent workshop/brake specialist.

Worth bearing in mind early Flavia brakes share much if not all in common with MK2 Jaguar.

As some of you know, I have a 1963 Flavia 815 Coupe with the early Dunlop braking system. I have had both the master cylinder rebuilt successfully at a company in Bury St Edmunds.

They have also rebuilt numerous classic motor bike calipers and master cylinders of mine over the years, so I can speak with absolute confidence in their work.

They are "Past Parts Ltd". Telephone  01284 750729, and the chap I always deal with is Nigel.

I have no connection with this company other than always being happy with their work.
