Rear wings from Andy Tait, yet to hang them on the back to fill the cover out.  Would help keep the puddles off so would even pay me back the time Smiley

Austin 7 looked a lot smaller than last time it rolled out into the sunshine...or have they got a lot taller...?   Of course I had to go for a ride in the Augusta to look forward to road runs in convoy, "all done by christmas".

The progress is throwing a lot of stuff away - the football collection etc - so can actually get into the garage.  A7 off its trailer, can even see the Aprillia engine in "Marie Celeste" corner.  The aspiration for this year is the Austin 7 on the road.  Have got another phase of the building down the bottom done, "the welding studio", so metal and wood dust, and sparks and wood dust, don't have to mix.  Phase 3 has had a redesign to be much simpler quicker and cheaper to get done.  Might (perhaps) get a start on that this year as well.

For now pleased to still have them...and the facilities...

The intention was, when I got a moment, to write up my recent giddy progress for Viva Lancia.  John Millham passing recently spurred me to write a brief update.

I've since done an edit of the photos to something that sort of tells the story and linked the album below.  WAY more than for an article but an achievable edit before a late bedtime.

Looking back 2009 I was making some progress.  2013 the axle came off as part of a complicated short term three way plan that is still ongoing.  This year something that actually looks like a step forwards, and all within a week elapsed and even then nothing like full time.  A couple of half days and an evening or two.  Its only cheap softwood but its only trying out ergonomics and lines.  There's bits and bobs I'd change but heading in the right direction for a "cheap and cheerful" body for it "in the first instance".  The collection of mechanical parts has grown.  I've a few steering boxes to make a good one from, another front axle, a more promising engine.

More than anything the flurry of progress is a reminder that when I do get time, I can make rapid progress. The Austin 7 was under a year to do at a time when I was busy with a number of other things on top of working 60hr weeks.   Fingers crossed sh*t stops happening long enough to get it another step on again.

Reminding myself where I got to in that lovely run of productivity.
