A dozen cars start in Scotland at 6pm.

http://acm.mc/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/2.-GLASGOW-1.pdf

Due Banbury 1:30pm to 1:41pm.  From there Peter Baker in his early Flavia will take up the chase to report.  He's had the car a while but all the same its been a saga sorting out all the niggles ready for such an ambitious trip.  As a reporter he'll have to outrun and leapfrog the field time and again to get into position to photograph them.

Some photos from Peter's facebook page.   A Flavia Berlina finished 9th overall on 1962 which I think is the period photo.

From this link it looks like a Flamina started as well.  Some nice period shots of both here.

Does anyone know why there is a frame round the headlights and side lights?

My efforts to find out have drawn a blank, it could be a headlamp wiping arrangement. BTW I would like to thank Omicron for taking the trouble to seek out some obscure and re- manufactured parts that have really helped me get the Flavia sorted.

Saw on an Austin 7 thread that LED headlights were a bad ideaon winter rallies as the heat doesn't melt the snow.  I wonder if it was a perspex screen with a warm air flow?

Photos not that sharp but possibly the frames are filled with mesh to protect all 3 light in one go? In some photos they seem to standing away from the bodywork.

Good thinking, might be perspex?
