In Belgium this time. Rare S2 232 model looks a bit special, and so it should be at £76,000!

Go to 'Inventory' on the Marcel Roks website http://www.mroks.com/ Click of photograph to read all about it.

Not sure about the Di but I dont arf fancy a go in that 1929 27 litre aero engine Minerva. Did anybody ever fit an aero engine in a Lancia?

Thanks for the correction William, messed up on the exchange rate conversion. Should have been £76,000 and I've corrected my original post.

The Dilambda on offer in England at the moment for £55,000 has a replica body so, given that this one is the much rarer 232 model, in superb original condition and with an interesting history, perhaps about right price?

Have to say that I've yet to come across a stylish and elegant example of the Dilambda (apart from mine of course!). Looking forward very much to the completed rebuild of Steady Barker's James Young saloon and the Viotti bodied one sold in America a couple of years ago for around $250,000 was stunning.

Just received an email from Morris Parry, who tells me that Boneschi (coachbuilders for this Dilambda) went on to body ice cream vans!

despite my unflattering comments I enquired about the price because I was secretly rather liking this car.
Trouble was it turned out to be twice as much as I hoped it might be....I'm not saying its not worth it, I don't see how anybody can really put a value on these things but I suspect most people laying out that sort of money want something with a more obvious sporting heritage or a coupe or convertible etc rather than a saloon in this style. But then we Lancia enthusiasts always are a peverse bunch that prefer saloons and oddball designs rather than the more obvious popular models so who knows. If the price drops by 40 k or more, I'm your man..

It's still there, I wonder if the price's dropped. I think it's rather stunning personally and I love the luggage http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C60347/#

The Turin car was, I think, an S2 232 as well but bodied by Pinin Farina.

If it's still the same price then at today's exchange rate it's £113,750!!  Shocked

The Turin car must have been a late entry or a replacement as the book of participants and cars doesn't list it.
Neither does it list the Augusta Ministriale, which I was rather taken with.

Just had another look at the book, but I hadn't realised before there is no 61-70 listed, the numbers are missing altogether Huh?

Yes, and Modestine was listed as a Lambda  Shocked

When the organisers were choosing the cars for the Saturday podium I asked them why there was no Dilambda and they said that there wasn't one present when there were two, although the other one was not booked on the event. They thanked me for bringing it to their attention and gave me a rosette.  Smiley

That was good of them, just surprised there were any cars on the podium that didn't belong to an Italian anyway Wink

Astura, I think. You can't expect an Augusta engine to pull that lot around!

The Boneschi car 32-1213 was still for sale at Marcel Roks in December 2012 and  still is now, April 2013.  You need a large garage and a deep pocket to run it any distance!
In the book about Carrozzeria Boneschi this car is not listed, probably because it is a little early for the incomplete data that has survive.
6 other Boneschi Dilambdas are listed as follows:

Model   Chassis No.   Engine No.   Body type & Date of Build   Customer
Dilambda   29-1113      Guida interni 4 posti by Boneschi, made 1.04.1937   Boneschi customer Emanuelli, Milano
Dilambda   29-1192      Cabriolet 4 posti by Boneschi made 13.01.1937   Boneschi customer Ditta Cesare Blondet, Pavia
Dilambda   29-1199      Landaulet a 4 posti by Boneschi made 19.02.1937   Boneschi customer Ag. Lancia Minetti, Milano
Dilambda   29-1200      Guida interni 4 posti by Boneschi made 2.02.1937   Boneschi customer Alfredo Focesi, Milano
Dilambda   32-1222   81-1778   Berlina 6 posti con separazione by Boneschi made 31.05.1935   Boneschi customer Carlo Fasciotti, Roma
Dilambda   32-1237   81-1809   Berlina 6 posti con separazione by Boneschi made 2.08.1935   Boneschi customer Ag. Lancia Minetti, Milano
