Grab handle I understand, but what's on top of the dash in the middle?

Would an Italian accessory measure pressure in lbs/sq inch?

I think you will find the colour is Amaranto........but this actual colour seems to vary from being somewhat bright to being somewhat dark. Its my favourite B20 colour if its towards the darker end of the spectrum and our beige 4th series which we have owned and run since 1978 'should' be this colour. Mind you I do like the flat pastel colours such as beige and pale blue also
Maybe one day I will get the car stripped and repainted its original colour?

It is a third series, so there is already an oil pressure gauge in the rev. counter. A temperature gauge is more likely, because the third series does not have one. I have fitted one myself, albeit at the bottom of the instrumentpanel.

Car looks nice, but something is wrong with the wheels, they should have 12 holes, not 8.
I find the grab handle position irritating. Not sure the passenger can really use it when needed, in that location. And it is not pretty!

Looking closely at the wheels I suspect that they do not have the rolled rim. They also seem to be fitted with Pirelli Cinturato tyres. The spare wheel - which has a Michelin X tyre - seems to have the rolled rim. The only model with wheels with 8 holes I have been able to find is a B15. It was fitted with 85x400mm tyres. The B53 were fitted with the same tyres, so they might well have had the same wheels. Have they fitted B15 wheels or welded a new rim on to a B15 wheel? The wheels with the rolled rim are known to corrode from the inside. Next question: Are the tyres 400 mmm or 15 inch?

Here's a photo to prove it.

It's a temperature gauge. I've got one exactly the same on my 4th series. There are no markings on it so no idea of the maker, but it's nice to know that it wasn't a one off.

I knew this car before it was repainted I think about 10 years ago. To my opinion the original color was much darker as still seen on the dashboard. Maybe this was called "marrone"? Which would correspond with the original seats in beige cloth (rather that the amaranto/grigio combo). Anyway, this was a very very original car with only few owners, and one of few Austrian delivered B20s (in period the price in Austria was more than one would pay for a detached house). It is sad that the car received a repaint, I think almost certainly a devaluation of the car. Regards
