Hi All,
I'm restoring my FlaminiaGT - see here for detail
http://www.flaminiagt.co.uk..and have a question - there is a gap between the inner steel wheel arch and the outer aluminium wing. Does anyone know what was originally between the two - was it a rubber seal or some other material? Does anyone know where I can find something that will give a good seal and keep the steel away from the outer wing?
Thanks
Dave
As a retired Water Engineer, I can recommend two Denso products. Easy to use and virtually foolproof. Coat both surfaces with Denso paste, which is like grease, and pack any gaps with Denso filler. I'm not sure of the current correct name but 30 years ago we called it "monkey muck" when you see it you'll know why. Fill any gap by rolling the filler into a sausage and push home with a wooden peg tapping with a hammer, if neccessary
