RHD DELTA

Here's something to ponder. When the Delta was first announced as possibly being made in RHD form, I checked some parts, steering, pedal box, dashboard etc, to see what was available. To my surprise (as I was sceptical) all parts were available ex stock.
As we know know, RHD was dropped. My question is...'What happened to the parts ?' I did a quick check yesterday, and steering racks, and pedal boxes are still in stock in the UK. The dash is coming up as a back order but with a supply date.
And before anyone comments, racks and pedal boxes are not the same as the Fiat Bravo.
So what the story ? are these parts for the scrap heap ?

Sounds like the chance for someone to exploit the situation and make a completely RHD New Delta, now that really would be worth seeing.

If the exchange rate were more favourable, it might even have happened. As it is, even LHD Deltas are expensive, and conversion would render their cost astronomic in the UK presently.

At present I'm scrapping a load of Fiat 'old stock', in some cases the models suited are not of any 'collectable' value so the parts are generally worthless. It'd be a real shame if somewhere there was a shelfload of RHD Delta parts waiting for a similar fate.
