What caught my eye:

- A nice simple trolley. 
- How much was left of his Flavia project - I get that one!!!
- How much new...
- Making an inner sill: hammer into a hollow form, shift along.

Going to take a couple of sessions even to browse.

The biggest profile gauge I've ever seen.

Hammering in the pattern.  He used a CNC mill to make the patterns, a wooden hammer, then wooden "chisels", then aluminium bars.  The aluminium would last five mins before needing to be reshaped.

So is the full length profile guage used to take measurements from another car? There can't be many old stock panels around any more athough the outer panels are perhaps the least of the worries, what with the fabrication and fitting in the less visible areas. I see the radiator fan cowl is perhaps available from the Netherlands, but not sure where. I will check my drain holes, which are normally hidden by the sill trims it seems. So a lot of useful information in the thread. An £80,000+ job at commercial rates? Anyhow does anyone know what the tube which runs the lenth of the sill is (page two)?

Hi Richard

I think the profile gauge was to take measurement from one side to the other.

The tube he refers to as being for the wiring loom, depending on RHD or LHD maybe only one or other is used is what I understood.

Thanks, I didn't see the loom reference. I did wonder about comparing one side to the other, so are the "pins" calibrated/measured and adjusted  to achieve a mirror image?

Hi Richard

My guess is he just flips it over by 180 degrees to compare the other side, so no calibration, just locks each pin and has a reference somewhere to start from.
