Alloy Wheel Deterioration
«
on:

Polished alloys always look great on cars when new but years down the line they suffer from oxidisation where water ingress between lacquer and the polished surface causes the polished surface to become scabby and thus effect the aesthetics of the wheel.
My Thesis is no different and despite regular washing and cleaning it has slowly over the last 12 months succumbed to this disease.
Does anyone know anywhere that excels in alloy refurbishment, particularly polishing at a reasonable rate with a future lifetime expectancy of over 12 months?
Cheers, Paul

I too need to refurbish the alloys on my Delta (Speedline Monte-carlo 16"). Any recommendations for south / south west of the country very welcome. The decision whether to powder coat or paint is tough too. Maybe deserves a separate thread.
Good luck with your Thesis alloys. I used to have a Dedra with polished / laquered alloys that went the same way and i vaguely remember an article in Viva Lancia about restoring these wheels, probably ten years ago or so now.
