From that date the French police will be able to access DVLA details of UK drivers who commit offences on their roads. Its estimated up to half a million people will be having their collars felt by the gendarmes. They are also outsourcing speed trap enforcement, meaning they believe they will multiply by 10 the number of tickets issued.
