Lancia Motor Club

An announcement will be coming out in next Viva Lancia but I want to give you a heads up as rooms are limited.

FFFEAR 2017 22-24 September - Confirmed

For this, the third year’s running of FFFEAR (Fulvia, Flavia, Flaminia East Anglia Raid), we will be based in Suffolk, enjoying driving the picturesque roads of this quintessentially English county with its wool towns and its Anglo-Saxon heritage.

We will be headquartered in the ancient town of Clare. I have reserved all 15 bedrooms of a historic 3 star coaching inn for the Friday and Saturday night.

The Raid (which loosely means a meeting of like minded car folk with some driving) will gather to the west of Suffolk (location TBA) on Friday afternoon, and will drive with simple navigation and observation test to Clare. We will have our own dining room and both the welcome supper on Friday and the gala dinner on Saturday the hotel will provide Italian fare for our enjoyment. On Saturday we will drive the breadth of Suffolk stopping for a pre planned lunch and visiting some interesting destinations. These drives will have again simple navigation and observation tests (not obligatory!). On Sunday we will further explore Suffolk before heading west to lunch when the Raid ends and participants are then free to make their way home.

The price has been kept to £350 for a team of 2 (as last year), and this includes all evening meals, lunches, accommodation, road book and rally plaque. All meals will have choices including vegetarian options.

I will need a non-refundable deposit of £100 by the end of April to secure your place, and the balance of £250 by the end of July. So if you have a Fessia car, or would just like to be part of this Lancia gathering, please contact me as soon as possible.

I have the white Flavia 2000HF  (OUF623M) that shows up at GNW & the SilverstoneClassic over the last few years.I drive the dreaded road to Norwich to see Omicron,but beyond that I know virtually nothing of East Anglia,& if you have space I would like to book a tentative interest,as September is still a long way off in my diary.

Thanks to all 15 teams that participated in FFFEAR2107. Only 2 casualties - both Flavias - at various times during the weekend but stalwart owners returned in another car to carry on so it cant have been too bad!

Weather was great overall allowing the 2 Vignales to drop their hoods. Also nice to see 2 2C's and another Fulvia Berlina strut their stuff.

While not a competitive event, congratulations to Sarah and Justin for Friday's win, Brian and Lynda for Saturday's, and Dianne and Neil for Sunday albeit Brian and Jo won the overall prize in the Skoda class!

Thanks also to Rob and Lynne for the Friday quiz which got the event off to a great start.

Next year we need a Flaminia on the event!!

A great weekend, many thanks to Sarah and Tim, we are looking forward to the next event, when my squeaky rear brakes are silenced!

Audley End :) - I grew up about a mile away from that and used to go there regularly to feed the ducks and watch the Canada Geese - which were usually on the lawns where the cars are parked ! Dad used to keep our caravan ( a Sprite 400 ) in the walled gardens ( before it was all restored ) and , of course , I loved going on the minature railway :)

Our thanks too to Tim & Sarah. Absolutely wonderful weekend. Great company, beautiful scenery and wonderful cars - who could ask for more??!!

Here are a few of my pictures too. The Ardea joined us for lunch on Saturday and rather stole the show. Paul and Gemma Baker were in an Integrale but as you can see from the pictures we tried to ignore them!
