Hi Colin, have sent you pics of PWP888F that i used to own, 848 KX was owned by my father in the late 60s, and later turned up at my school in early 70s driven by the female PE teacher, after that I don't know where it went. Hope that helps.  p.s. have mailed you pics of my old one

Hello Colin, I have PYW 321F tucked up safely in my garage!! As is usual, not used as much as I would like, but I am thoroughly enjoying those times when we do get out!! Despite this she is in excellent road going condition.

If you need more specific information please do just ask!!!

Hi Colin,

As I think you know, I've had UBY90F for a few years now and have the full ownership history (original log book etc.). It's not on your list but I was interested to see UBY85F  is one of the cars you're looking for info on. Presumably a batch? Do you know anything of UBY 86-7-8-9 F?

The internet tells me (correctly?) that UB is a Leeds plate. Who was the dealer up there in '68? Someone here will know.

Best,
William

William, the area indicator for suffix registrations is the last two letters of the group of three, hence it is 'BY' that tells you that this plate was issued in London, and the series with the 'F' suffix started in February 1968.

For those interested in U.K. number plates, buy Noel Woodall's excellent book 'Where's it from, when was it issued' my 1976 copy is very well thumbed!

PYW is another London number, the 'F' suffix series started in January 1968
PWP is Worcestershire, 'F' suffix starting in August 1967
KX is Buckinghamshire, the suffix series (just two letters without year indicator) started in April 1963
...........I could go on ........... but I won't!!!!

Colin,

I owned 4061 KP during 1985/1986.

When I bought it for £1700 ! it was a dull pale gold colour, had a hard top, and the interior had been re-trimmed in tan cloth with matching carpets by a chap named Bernie Newberry in Southend.

I had it resprayed in a period metallic silver, and then some time later sold it to a chap who came round in an Alfa 2600 Spider, but I can`t remember where he came from or who he was.

I do have a couple of old photos from when I owned it if they are of any help, but of course they aren`t digital.

Hope you are well, and look forward to catching up soon.

Bob
