Title: Appia YFF248
Post by: HF_Dave on 10 March, 2016, 08:55:30 AM
I am trying to register this little  Appia in Ireland and am having trouble with the first registration date . there seems to be a problem with the date given in form from the UK . The date given for the first registration is 2014 . that's a mistake   it might have changed hands on this date but  ??? but it can't be the first registration .  the details are Lancia Appia, reg No YFF248, vin C10113371. If anyone has any information or if they can tell me where or what form I would need to get from the DVLA in order to obtain a log book . kind regards David  ???

The YFF series was issued by the DVLA as 'age-related' numbers for cars without a valid original number. Either your car had lost its original number for some reason, or it was a recent import, but technically it may well be 'first registered' in 2014. Either way, the V5C should also declare an original date of manufacture.

I don't have a copy of the V5c , I know there is a form you can get from the Dvla to get the v5c  but I'm not sure which one .

You can get the exact date of manufacture, plus originals colours, engine/box numbers etc etc from FIAT Storica (very efficient and costs 40-50 euros if I recall)

I used them to help get paperwork for my 3rd series when I had no papers at all.

Dave, I think its a V62 and £25 to DVLA but you may need a UK address?

The DVLA records show the car as first registered March 1962 (manufactured 1961):
