Post by: stanley sweet on 12 February, 2016, 10:19:51 AM The Fulvia Zagato - this could well be the one European Classic Cars had for sale a few years back at quite a reasonable price. It was tempting but as far as I can see although there are fasteners on the dash top for a tonnneau I don't think there is any sort of hood? So a bit impractical. You'd want to take it on nice trips to Italy etc but lets face it, at some point you'd get soaked and so would the whole interior. This is the first time I've seen the interior. Don't like the wheel as it's too modern. But have to say I don't mind the dash. I'm a sucker for a painted dash like the old Alfa Spiders and more recently the Barchetta and Fiat Coupe. Hmmmm, where's that can of red paint?

That seemed to be bodywork right up to the back of the seats.

The conversion was done in the U.K. by (I think) Paul Holroyd. It has been for sale for a while now. The last time I saw it (which was quite a few years ago) it didn't have a hood.
The dash is painted body colour and the steering wheel matched because the original prototype built by Zagato had these features. The original had Alfa Junior Zagato seats with flip up headrests. The B24 Spyder has been for sale for a long time now, you might expect to get this sort of money if you put it in auction in the USA, but in Europe the prices are nowhere near as strong, witness the fact that the ex Brussels Motor Show car did not sell at the recent Bonhams Retromobile sale with a guide price of 900,000 - 1,300,000 euro |
