Title: Flavia 1.8 Berlina (Tipo 815) for sale
Post by: Sliding Pillar on 11 February, 2016, 03:31:56 PM
Further to Peter's report of the purchase of his Flavia from Rome (http://www.lancia.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=8674.msg62421#msg62421)
These are a few photos of the one that European Classic Cars will be advertising shortly.
I had a quick drive of it and it drove well, the paintwork is an older respray with some signs of ageing, the interior is excellent and it has an ASI gold plate.
David at ECC said he will be advertising it at £6,500 http://www.europeanclassiccars.co.uk/index.html

That really is nice. The two bench seats and flat floor will make is six seater, a perfect family car. The interior space reminds me of my father in-law's Austin 1800 Landcrab which we used to describe as a small detached bungalow on wheels. In less safety conscious days that used to carry two young families totalling ten people, many of them very small though.

One of the most mad and individualistic cars Lancia ever produced.

I am confused Peter, I started this thread so as not to confuse your car with the one European Classic Cars have for sale, but you have put pictures of you car here. Doh!!

Perhaps you are just tired after spending all week on the road ;D,  or is it because they look identical :-\

Easy to spot the difference, one has got the HiFi badge on the front, the other has the ASI gold plate on the rear.

Whoops, sorry, went to your post and then continued. As you say, fatigue probably set in.

Makes the 6.5k one a bargain, particularly liked the comment

" I'm not worried if it does not sell so will wait for the asking price."

Begs the question why put it up for sale...?

Peter

Have to say that does look a really nicely presented car from the photos.

What is the significance of an ASI Gold Plate? Does it indicate condition (presumably at the time of inspection) or is it some form of authentication of originality - and are there other standards than gold plates?

The advert implies the gold plate means it is a matching numbers car and is correct as it left the factory.

What is the price of the European Classics car I wonder? They used to always put the prices in the adverts but that seems to be changing. Also no engine bay photos which I would prefer to see, even if its scruffy.

There is a photo of the engine in my first post on this thread, although it is difficult to make a Flavia engine look interesting when all you can see is the air filter.
