Title: Lybra SW 2.4JTd - FREE
Post by: stuwilson128 on 10 February, 2016, 09:38:31 PM
Due to various reasons I have to let my Lybra go.  It is the 2.4JTd 130BHP model.  It was first registered in 2000 and I am only the second owner, having bought it about 2003/4.  It has 323000kms (200,000 miles) on the clock.

I took it off the road three years ago after a rear arm bush needed to be replaced and didn't manage to get it replaced before the MOT was due (I bought the bush but never got around to replacing it).  Since then, it has unfortunately been allowed to get worse.  I attempted to start it a few days ago but could not get it to turn over.

The brakes are seized on due to being stood for so long.  It will move if pulled.  The bodywork will require light restoration as there are signs of bubbling in a few places.  It would also benefit a full respray.  As stated, I couldn't get it to turn over, so an engine rebuild will probably be needed.

The car will need to be trailered away.  It would be a good project car for somebody who has the time to do it.  I had planned to try and get it back on the road, but we are trying to sell the house and I don't have the time or resources to be able to do the car justice.

If anybody would like more information, please contact me by email which you can find in my profile.  Alternatively, phone me on 07525 637942.

I need the car to go by the end of this month, before the house goes on the market.  If there are no takers, it will unfortunately be going to the big scrap yard in the sky.

A few more photos of the car.

What a pity. I feel for you. I would be tempted but my wife would notice a second LHD SW appearing on the drive. My Dedra has been standing for nearly a year now awaiting a little welding and a back axle beam rebuild so I had better get on with it before I am in the same boat.

If it reaches the scrap yard point, I'd be interested in buying the glove box lid, hand brake housing and fuse box cover on the left by the steering wheel. Mine have gone horrible and sticky and covered in dust and dog hairs.

Scrapping it would be such a shame but if it comes to that you might offer a "spanner away day" and see if you can raise at least some cash from letting members acquire parts.

This car is no longer available as it has unfortunately been scrapped.
