Title: Rotor arm for my S1 Aprilia
Post by: brian on 30 December, 2015, 05:25:37 PM
As is well known I am Aprilia-naive. After the speedometer interlude the engine is back and the engine would not start.
2 problems
A) I have an SU petrol pump that ticks for a variable number of times and then stops - with or without fuel. Getting sorted hopefully without buying new. If not repairable any favourite replacements? (Still on 6V).
B) Also no sparks - originally I thought it was the leads (which are pretty manky) but I am sure the problem is the rotor arm as there has ceased to be a piece of copper from the middle to the end. What is the replacement? Do they exist new and if so where?!

Hope all have a healthy New Year
Brian

Brian,

I still run the mechanical fuel pump without any problems but I believe these electric pumps are quite good if you cannot fix the SU:

You can find brand new distributors on Italian eBay for 150 euros, I think a worthwhile investment as the old one probably has a worn auto advance and they come complete.
