Title: A solid pre-war Lancia for sensible money
Post by: williamcorke on 11 December, 2015, 02:20:33 PM
At least that's what it looks like in the photos.

2nd Series Ardea for 2,500 Euros. Must be tempting for someone?

It's even got a roof rack.

No connection to seller.

But surely a Second Series makes it post-war?

edit: 7247 makes it quite a late Series 2 (numbering ended at 8430) so this one probably dates from 1947.

I did wonder if the pre-war date and 2nd series description were at odds. None of the photos shows whether the rear window is split or not.

It will have the split rear window; the pre-war Series One was the only version without a bootlid, the Series Two combined the split rear window with the bootlid, and Series Three onwards had the single rear window.

Makes the totally restored 1952 one I have been offered for £10,000 delivered to the U.K. sound good value. I don't think you could restore the red one for the £7500 (with delivery) price difference.

That looks nice, and with the bonus of the five-speed gearbox, too.

Ade you may be right but 10k is too cheap for a fully restored car even it Italy.

I been to Italy to collect cars with friends and the car is never as good as the photos.

There was a very nice Ardea at the Turin show last year  for the same money partially restored but running . With all the unique Ardea parts.

My guess this is a quick blow over with plenty plastico and a cheap water based paint. Far too shinny not like it came out the factory Ade. In the English climate I give in 3 years in normally garage conditions perhaps a bit longer in an Air chamber.

There are not enough photo to establish and check the car out properly  does it have some of unique Ardea parts ?
at least the one William has found is an honest car you can see the problems and there is  roof rack.
