Title: Fanalone for sale RHD - need deep pockets...
Post by: peteracs on 28 November, 2015, 02:51:24 PM
Hi All

Just seen this, may have been for sale for a while, but looks like a nice car, but maybe a tad on the expensive side even for one of these?

If someone with 'deep pockets' really wants one then this is probably as good as it gets for a RHD Unmolested example. If my numbers came up a Fanalone would be in my collection and I would consider this one -hopefully with a little bit of negotiation though.

Did Fanalones not have 130bhp rather than the standard 115bhp?

I think it's a new listing but OH what a disgraceful misuse of a wide angled lens. Alsothe pictures are hopelessly overexposed. How do such photographically illiterate people get to sell such fine Fulvias? Is it a marque specific ailment? Someone in Paris would be turning in his grave if he were dead!

Over the years I've seen the motor trade use some pretentious phrases in car adverts but I reckon 'spiritual progenitor' just about takes the biscuit!  ;D ;D ;D
Interesting car though...

I've seen a few Fanalone's at 60K over the past year so this is a jump in price. Bad news for anyone wanting to own one and seeing them go out of reach but also good to see people waking up to how good these cars are. I have never understood the disparity between say an Alfa Bertone and a Fulvia, whether 1300 or 1600. Given the Fulvia's competition record it's a mystery. I can only put it down to the relatively simple engineering approach of Alfa and the thought that no proper sportscar can be FWD.

Stanley, I also put it down to Alfa being permitted to continue making some smashing looking cars so there continues to be a supply new owners who discover their classic models. Most younger car enthusiasts (in Britain at least) don't even know Lancia exist and even if they recognise the Stratos or Integrale they don't make the connection with a long heritage of exceptional cars.
