Title: Vignale
Post by: Parisien on 13 November, 2015, 09:37:50 AM
Received this by email from Andrew -

please post if of interest

abremner@btinternet.com
I tried to post something on a current thread regarding two Fulvias recently sold.

I am selling yet another.  it is a "garden find".  it is a Vignale and may have some reasonable spares such as screen and other glass.  body panels are OK.  it is the chassis that is useless but there again..............

it also has bumpers and a pair of good condition headlamp rims   if of interest then someone could get in touch with me at this email address.

I didn't know Vignale did a body on the Fulvia - should this read Flavia, perhaps?

Further information from Andrew, please contact him via the email address in first post -

"The estate of my chum has now been finalised and I have been asked to dispose of the "garden find" Flavia Vignale.

The car is at his house in Ashwell, North Herts and it has to be removed by the end of the first week of 2016.  I shall therefore offer it first to Lancisti and if it does not receive a sensible offer then I shall be offering it on eBay.  Either way, it must be removed from the garden.

The tyres are flat and deep in garden detritus so it needs serious excavation.  The floor is all but non-existent and there is little chassis, if any.  So it will not roll out.  I would imagine it needs a lift or wheel dollies.

But it has a body that is "rescueable" and all panels are capable of repair or copying.  There is an 1500 engine and it appears to have twin carbs.  I have not opened the boot but I think I can find the keys for ignition and doors as handles are there.

The bumpers are both there and so is the screen and side glass.  The hood frame is there but................. Scalliwags have nicked some badges but they did miss one Vignale enamelled badge.

The seats are not in the car but I may be able to track them down for frames etc.  The steering wheel is useless but the dash and speedo are intact.  I imagine that brakes and suspension are there.  I have a box of spares that I need to sort as I can see many parts are not Lancia.  I have seen rusted pistons and liners and a flywheel and clutch.  There are some hubcaps.  I shall try to delve into the various spares over Xmas.

I have the logbook V5.  It is described as a FLAMINIA FARINA 1500 FRAME 1619 ENGINE MOT8150012766. REGN 990 FYN.  RHD.  Registered 17-07-1963. I also have his original Sale Form from Croydon Carriage Company in 1973.  I can add no more info.

No, it is not a "freebie" - I have to get the maximum for the Estate.  If I were a Lancisti and had another Flavia then I would have it myself.  But I am an Alfisti so if anyone has any Giulietta 750/101 Giulietta/Giulia spares perhaps we can arrange some swapping.  But it seems to have the engine and gearbox, suspension and wheels.  I know that original glass and bumpers are difficult to find.  It has the doors, bonnet and boot lid.  Yes, it is full of cobwebs and nettles.  But there are going to be a lot of spares that are useful.  I also have a pair of headlamp chrome rims in my own box of spares for sale separately.

Please email me with any interest in buying the car as is, where is and remove it before the house completion.  I have no interest in offers for parts.  I am too old to split the car to small parts and I have several half-complete restorations to finish for my summer use.

Please do not ask me "What are you looking for it?"  Make an offer. Or several can buy it together and share the work involved in splitting.

I will listen to offers from Lancisti or put it on eBay

I have had some correspondence with Andrew. This is for the brave as the description in his letter identifies.

Way beyond my talents! (Not that I have any ;D).

I live only a few miles from Ashwell and will be happy to help out with this. I do not, however, have a trailer, tow vehicle, large winch or teleport facilities which sound like what is needed. Just let me know if I can be of assistance.

This 'lot' is now on Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151932002041 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151932002041)

If anyone does acquire it and cut out any useful bits of bodywork, it's possible that I could find a use for the rear inner wheel arches. The front portions of these are visible in the seventh photo on Ebay. If the rear portions (visible in the boot) are unholed and unrepaired then they might be useful.

If this has to be broken up in situ I am willing to help collect any parts for people further afield if they can't get to Ashwell in time.
