Post by: Parisien on 07 November, 2015, 10:37:58 PM
Yes, I know, I should be doing other things, use my time more wisely, but then again, I take great delight in torturing our very own Andy!!

 ;D

 ;)

Some delightful pickings to be had....cast your beady eyes over this little selection.

Frank, you are a rotter !!!!

The saving grace is that they are all saloons. I could only be tempted by something a little off-track .... and then only tempted, I must hope that I can resist temptation!!!

                           Andy

PS   Frank, for the sake of my sanity, please go and pick some blackberries!!

The off-track options are out there too! I've got my eye on a couple of Vignale Lussos, but I'll keep the details to myself for the moment  8)
... but I'd certainly be interested in co-sponsoring Frank's transporter  ;D

edit: Oh, yes, I forgot - there's this Viotti Giardinetta too; too much work for me, so I'll let you have the details  :D

Mike, please go and pick blackberries with Frank!!!!

Seriously, that does look like it may be saved, I definitely hope so . Worryingly, there are no views of the back of the vehicle.

So, despite my references to blackberries, people, please do keep looking and posting these gems. I am sure one or more of them will ring true for someone on the Forum.

                                    Andy

PS Mike, good luck with the Vignales!

Does anyone have any idea how to go about buying and Appia in Italy and driving it back to UK? I understand that the registration plates belong to the owner of the car and are usually removed on sale, so assume some sort of reregistration is required, who knows!

I love the wooden "sliding sash" entrance door to the rear seating. That's right up by track, beaten or otherwise.

Dave, there was a recent thread on importing from Italy, it might be worth trying the forum search facility.

That Appia van seems very expensive Frank, it is on Sardinia too! I once got a price to bring a car back to the U.K. from Sardinia, the cost of the return ferry trip to the island was as much as the rest of the trip back to the U.K. needless to say I didn't buy the car.
I makes this one (Being sold by my friend at European Classic cars) look very good value http://www.prewarcar.com/index.php?option=com_caradvert&view=ad&section_id=4&id=186736&Itemid=434 such good value that I believe it has just been sold........ back to Italy!

Indeed, coals to Newcastle then. It really does complicate things if transport very costly or too awkward, never mind being overpriced in the first instance

Thanks for the info on importing a car from Italy. Looks like the only way is to get a car out of Italy is to have it transported. Have to think again about how to do this.

Or you take a trailer to Italy and bring it back yourself enjoying the visit and the drive. It probably wont be any cheaper than having it transported but you have the peace of mind of knowing that you have what you have paid for in your possession from the moment of the final payment. Also by doing it inn person you can ensure that the vendor gives you all the paperwork he/she has. In my experience this doesn't always happen with a 3rd party collection and whilst its not necessarily that important, its always nice to have as much history on your new purchase as possible.
