They can represent you, and bid for you up to your maximum - I think it is called "absentee bidding". The "limit" is kind of reserve. You should bid over the "limit", and to a value which you believe reasonable. The other way of course is to be present at the auction. I believe many dealers in Automobilia are present, so the price level is normally indicative of the price to the trade. Be careful however of total cost, meaning the successfull bid + buyer provision + VAT + insured shipping. The page "Buy & Sell" on their website is pretty detailled.
