Well in Padova it was priced 18.000 Euro.

Condition: hastely painted, so expect a bit of TLC....

But a very nice interior on the other hand....

First place is best!  As Dikappa knows, we got in first and the SJ now sits in our garage.  First
Let of call is to get it on the road and long term we'll sort the bodywork etc although it's okay as it is for now...Goodwood track day trip as support van could be a goer!

Jason & Louise congratulations on your purchase, the Superjolly is a fabulous and for its time, very advanced vehicle.
I am sure Dikappa has told you some of the weak points to look out for, wheel bearings are not really up to the job, and you will have fun with the Dunlop braking system, twin calipers on each front wheel, and single on the back, plus of course the two servos.
From the photos I have seen it appeared to be missing the door over the spare tyre compartment, do you have this?
In the parts book of the SJ minibus there are three rows of seats in the back, was yours ever like that, or has it only ever had the two rows of back seats. This is however the only SJ minibus I have ever seen pictures of, and being an original 1800cc one it is probably the only one left!

Brian, the photos on Subito have been removed as the vehicle has been sold, but here are some from the ad.

Superb. Could set up a little cinema in the back. There was an article all about these and their braking system some time ago in Viva Lancia. Couldn't tell you which issue though.

I can't see the article on the braking system on database indexes. However, using the "Search Media" on the database and entering "Jolly" there are around 20 things ( forum topics, VL, Journal ) which tells you where to look for what we "Know about" ( ie: which page and issue )

The article wasn't just about the braking system, I think it was a bit of a running restoration. Would have been in the mag or possibly here, can't think where else I would have seen it.

Not a cinema but how about a vintage bike carrier?!  Admit to a Dutch bike fascination (but nice colour match) but Jason has an aluminium 1980 Alan (Italian) which look great in there but will mean the rear row of seats will have to be removed.  To be honest they are very close to the seats in front so not much use and I'll still be able to take 5 passengers!

Heck, if you remove the back row of seats they would pretty cool in the living room!

You're so right Frank!  They are stunning aren't they and when I saw the van online, they really stood out.  Very classic 60s lines.  Still not sure if they've been refurbished - I'm not usually into beige, tan or brown but they really do go with the blue exterior.  The 3 front seats are black which is almost a shame.

Beautiful vehicle, Louise! It's colour is a great match for your Gazelle frame! But I think it's time you got an Italian frame to match the Superjolly.....like a Colnago or a Masi..... :D!!

Best of fun with the new acquisition!

Thank you Tim.  While I adore many Italian bike makers (who wouldn't) I'm afraid I've had a Gazelle fascination for quite a few years - the one pictured is my "new" 1976 bike which is wonderful.  When I've taken part in the Italian vintage bikes, my Gazelle sticks out as being very different as virtually every bike there is a Bianchi!  As mentioned Jason thankfully continues the Italian theme having decided an aluminium Alan was the vintage bike for him.  It is stunning although of course I prefer mine  ;)

Perhaps this thread and the other one http://www.lancia.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=8486.0 should be moved and combined under the Lancia Commercials heading.

These are a couple of articles about the Superjolly, the first is from the Winter 1987 LMC Journal (No 80) and the next is about the gathering we had not long after Fulvia 25 from the Winter 1988 LMC Journal (No 83)

What a (Super Jolly) braking system, almost aerospace in redundancy architecture....

Happy (or jolly) new year Lou. At Bicester Heritage brunch today I met a chap who is just setting up to sell vintage racing bikes. He is in the purchasing phase at the moment but will have a web site up and running in a few weeks time, www.goldenagecycles.co.uk. His current stock seemed to be English but I am sure he could be educated in the fullness of time. Not that anyone should be distracting you from jollying up your new bus.

Wow Frank!  Some great bikes on his website which I shall have to delve into a bit more.  Let's hope he sees the light :-).  I've signed up Jason and I and our Italian / Dutch bikes to a vintage bike festival / ride in June.  Jason's still in shock... It will be his first ever bike sportive.  Was hoping to take the SJ as a support vehicle but logistically it's easier to take out motorhome for the 3 day event.
