Maybe but I'd probably be in the FIAT as 125 miles on a motorway isn't that appealing ... :) ( Show is great though ... )

Anyway, I'd updated the website calendar - I had 29th show down there - and put you down ( Neil ) as the contact.

I will be there but probably in the Goodwood Prisma as I intend to try to sell it.

Wont be going up the hill though as that would be silly.....

I think Ben might not agree about it being silly going up the hill ...... I bought my Appia from him at Brooklands and having just agreed the deal, he set off up the hill, apparently staying in first the whole way!!!!

PS there was no tapping/knocking noise apparent at that time, nor indeed in the next year or so!!!!!

Once again, the Brooklands Trust have invited the Club to supply a couple of vehicles to display in the central Paddock to promote the Museum and to attract new members to the Museum Trust.

Last year, Brian and "Fay" very kindly joined with my B20 to help out and the organisers were very appreciative of the interest the 2 cars generated.

From pre-war to Integrale, any Lancia is welcome to volunteer (we could even split the day and swop cars if that appeals) and full details of the event can be found at

http://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/index.php?/events/details/auto-italia-intalian-car-day/

So anyone interested, please drop me an email with vehicle details to atindell@fsmail.net

Many thanks,
Adam Tindell

Hi all the Ardea is under major brakes restoring but they promised me should be ok for autoitalia!! i don`t think i will be able to do the hill-climb cause  i haven`t manage any mileage on the car so cannot be sure about her reliability but if you need we can use her on central paddock!! I really fancy the idea!!

Looking forward to seeing your Ardea, and it would certainly get plenty of attention as it's a great situation.

Update from Auto Italia, the parking layout is the same as last year, Lancias past the hangar towards the banking.

Many thanks to everyone who expressed an interest in supporting the Brooklands Trust display.

The plan is to have Will How and his Appia and my B20 on display, but if anything changes I'll come to the LMC display
and look for help!

So, on the day, come on down to the Paddock and have a chat with us.

Great turnout. Virtually all Lancias represented, and a great social amongst members!

Excellent turnout! didn't count but could have been 50 Lancias in attendance. Good to meet up with so many club members and lots of interest from 'Jo public'. Will's Appia and Adams B20 in pride of place on the Brooklands Trust stand.

I'd not tackled the Test Hill before so got that ticked off. Odd experience as it is over in seconds and the Fanalone was best left in 1st gear all the way up!

Didn't take many photos although others did and they will no doubt appear on here soon.

Thanks go to Neil for once again booking us an excellent display area.

Robin.

Excellent day over on the Brooklands Museum Display with Will's Appia and the B20 attracting much interest and appreciation.

Had an interesting chat with a chap full of enthusiasm for the Aurelia as he had just bought one.

He felt the car drove better than any of the contemporary Italian thoroughbreds that he owned - fortunatly I had already twigged that the individual before me was "JK" of Jamiroquai and that he knew what he was talking about.

I wonder if he bought an Aurelia on the recommendation of his fellow owner down at Goodwood.

A great day and a pleasure to show the cars to such an enthusiastic and large audience.

Any pictures welcomed.

Adam

We're into the "not Lancias" set here.  That Fiat 3P tugs at the heart strings.  Since last year I've discovered its "scrap yard to show car" story and this year got to hear it in the queue, it held its own against the Pantera, and scamper up the hill.  The Abarth we christened "The Ladybird Car".

Looks an excellent day - so much nice stuff to look at. Love the flying boat, I've got a thing about flying boats. Think I might have to take home the beautiful little red Abarth (1000?). I have a thing about Abarths too. Unfortunate number plate on the Pantera...

For you... A couple of repeats but here's the set.  The intention is to "photo merge" the three side on but am on the wrong computer to do that now.

The rear screen was more of a sunroof the angle it was.

Thanks David. They are just gorgeous. Apart from the looks I love highly tuned small engines. I have photos of a beautiful one I took at Dijon but I won't hijack this thread.

I spotted the tail in another photo.  The engine is from another car.

Its an absolute work of art, but these days rather than thinking how nimble and what great traction and how compact I think about it having an impossible peddle offset and being sensitive to setup and prone to wander and flick oversteer and how flimsy a wee thing it is.

A similar car here.

Lancia of the day - the Ardea.

Non Lancia of the day - the Fiat 3P sneaks it over the Ballila.

Treat of the day - a four door Alfasud was my first car and we failed to find one (and we looked...) last year so its a rare treat and a delight, BUT the stratochamber and supersonic wind tunnel is an amazing thing and tops that easily.  The wind tunnel was an afterthought.  They realised a huge low pressure chamber would make a power source, they fed it from a balloon of dry air next door.  They managed mach 4 for 40 seconds from it per go.  The stratochamber was used to test all sorts from cold starting engines to icing on ships to expedition clothing as well as aircraft.  It was built at Barrow by the submarine yard and is the "set" for the Classic Car Show with Jodie Kidd and Quentin Wilson.

David,

Great pics ... really captured the variety of cars and some of the small details that we all enjoy so much.

Would it be OK if I borrowed the pics of the Brooklands display with the B20 and Appia to help the Museum magazine, and the same for Viva Lancia (I will credit them to you).

Many thanks

Anyone - everyone - help yourself to any pictures of mine.  A credit is appreciated but not required.

Anyone - everyone - if you want the original size image just let me know...

Adam - email me if its just the ones of your car or if you want the whole set.  If its the whole set I find it easiest to burn a disk and post it for all my dad and everyone else tries to convince me DropBox or FlikR or whatever else is "a job of moments" it always seems to be grief.

Was the Stratos genuine? It has Italian plates but almost looks too pristine for an ex-works car.

Wow! thanks for that David. Took me back to Clipstone Forest on the RAC Rally in the 70s. All that way just to have the Stratos pass by at full chat a few feet away. Unforgettable! :)
