Title: What is the correct battery for the Flavia 2000
Post by: mikegamble on 13 August, 2014, 07:28:29 AM
My '74 2000 HF arrived last night and it has the wrong sized battery on. Does anybody know what the correct size/spec/model battery should be, please?

Mike
I use a Yuasa Silver 5000 battery
http://www.halfords.com/motoring/bulbs-wiper-blades-batteries/batteries/yuasa-12v-silver-car-battery-hsb075-5-yr-guarantee

check that your voltage regulator is working OK. Mine wasn't (see my previous post) and was the cause of the previous battery demise. It fried the Yuasa so it wouldnt hold its charge. halfords replaced the Yuasa battery under warranty which was good of them as it was the voltage regulator which was the real villain!

Thanks for the reply, it was the 075 part I was after, just to find a battery size that fits right. I'm probably going to try and get a Bosch or Varta one for it.

Varta batteries have given particularly good service in my Betas.

Mike
Make sure the battery has minimum 5 years warranty and it can be exchanged easily should the need arise. Bosch, Varta, Yuasa are all solid brands.
