Title: Wiring diagram
Post by: dannels on 02 July, 2014, 05:32:46 PM
Hi all,

I'm struggling to fix a number of electrical gremlins in my GT. The wiring diagram I have is just a black and white copy and it's sending me cross eyed following the wires. Does anyone out there have an original manual as I believe this diagram was in colour?

Can someone take a picture and add to this thread please?

Many thanks on behalf of my eyes!

Cheers
Dave

I went through various Flaminia books (factory manual / repair manual / ricambi) but all the wiring diagrams are black only. The Aurelia ones (for B10 at least) from a decade earlier are in colour. Decline at work, as usual...

That is excellent Dave. Now you have practised with the Flaminia, may I request that you obtain one for me and the B20!!

Good luck with your gremlins ...

Well this is in the wrong thread, but here's an Aurelia wiring diagram from the B24 uso book. Sorry Andy, but I couldn't find a 4th Series B20 one. This should be close though...

Hi All

The wiring diagram only gets me so far..... so looking for more help from you guys!

I have both rear lights, indicators and number plate light functioning, but only one brake light.

I've changed the bulb and its not that - I suspect its wired incorrectly at the rear connection block on the inner wheel arch in the boot. The issue is some of the tags are absent from my wiring so i'm unsure if the are connected correctly (the above suggests its very close but not correct!)

I've tried continuity testing of the wires to try to identify but its giving me odd readings...ie more than one end to the same wire!

Can anyone send me a close up picture of theirs  or even better a numbered drawing (as I have some of the tags - so perhaps a process of elimination...) please?

Any other suggestions welcome...

Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave

I will have a look tonight, what I can remember is that the rear choc block has no markings or tags on the wires, with some of the rear wiring being re-wired during the partial restro Omicron did during the mid 90’s.

I have always wanted to re-wire the car, as I know if something fails it’s not going to be a 10min job to put right. But a back to basics forensic investigation for each wire, such are the problems with shared negative earthed circuits.

Don't worry jay - it's fixed now - perseverance pays off.

MOT tomorrow....first one since 1982!

Fingers & toes crossed

Hi Dave I had a quick look on Monday night but too dark to take a picture, fingers cross for tomorrow and hope to see you and the GT at Silverstone.

Good luck with the MoT.

Here's a picture of your car the day I bought it (rescued it, I like to think, as it was being kept outside and had a 2 inch puddle inside - the fact it still held water was an encouragement to me!). That was, IIRC, 2004, so tomorrow's a red letter day for the car that's been a long time coming.  Well done! The car finally found the owner it deserved...

Passed the MOT - next challenge making it to Silverstone this weekend - my longest drive so far is less than half a mile to the mot station and back!
