Title: Insurance in France
Post by: stanley sweet on 30 May, 2007, 02:14:37 PM
Hi everyone, I moved to France last year and my Fulvia is now here after having some excellent work done on it by Graham Bates. It now has full alloy panels, perspex etc. I used to sprint it but now it will stay tucked up for sunny dry days. Anyway, does anyone know anything about classic insurance in France? I have a feeling it doesn't exist as it does in England (limited mileage, agreed value) but I could be wrong. If anyone out there has experience of this I'd be grateful. By the way, hello to the names I recognise out there, Richard Fridd, David Laver, Ian Conway. Richard - your orange Zagato is now with Grahams son and in good hands. I had to cut back on the cars as I now have a single small garage.

Try Mascotte Assurances, 04 90 34 16 00.  They did both my Montecarlos at a very reasonable rate.  Also, buy yourself a copy of Gazoline magazine.  There are several classic car insurers listed there.

Thanks for that Rodders. I've also been given a couple of other numbers by a member here in France so I should be able to sort something out now. What an idiot, I stand in the supermarket reading the Gazoline car ads and never thought to look there for insurance.
