Title: Inspector Montalbano tonight
Post by: fay66 on 01 September, 2012, 09:45:11 PM
Inspector Montalbano Tonight in episode 2/12 'equal Time'
Two Mafiosi killed in a Kappa 4 door ambushed while stopped at set up roadworks , the Kappa was considerably air texed as were the Mafiosi!

May be English subtitles but it's a great series to watch, particularly as it's so politically incorrect.

I  started watching Montalbano during the previous series, mainly to see if there would be any Lancias. There were none, but what an excellent programme.

As you say Brian, not quite PC and that is. so refreshing and part of what makes it good viewing. Highly recommended, even my sister in France watches it.

Great series, I've not seen all of them but very atmospheric.

Anyone read the books? I first found them about 5 years ago. Brilliant read, all of them

Last Saturday 21/9/2012 a very nice Series 2 Ypsilon made an appearance, & the inspector fell a victim (willing) to a rather lovely young lady's charms :o

and could I have his house please!

Steve

Steve,

Just find a nice site overlooking some water and I think we can deal with the rest.

I did notice a sizeable vacant area of grass overlooking the lake at the NEC, would that do ??
At least your removal costs would be minimal.

Martin.

Last night was the last in the present series, and it was very good involving two blow up Dolls, a murder, a hilarious misunderstanding, and the inspector finishing up on a table strapped down by his neck and a clever, or so he thought, murderer about to slice him up into little pieces, you'll have to watch it yourself as I don't wish to spoil the ending!
Highlight in cars was the appearance of a Thesis.
Anyone else watch it?

Now I know what a Thesis looks like, I am not au fait with the current models.

You summarised it all very well there Brian, I am looking forward to the next series even though Lancia appearances are few and far between !!!

Happy viewing Tim !!

Hi Brian

Yes, watched it last night. My wife loves it. It's very strangely shot, like an '80s low budget drama! And why can't he afford a better car? Someone should offer him a Lancia, obviously.

Del

I just love the typical Italian gestures, shrugs and the hands! Catarella cracks me up, as did him trying to explain the other girl to Ingrid! and how it's shot really suits the programme.
I'd hate to see him treat a Lancia the way he treats that poor old Tipo, must be a nightmare keeping a car clean there with all that dust :o

The dusty Green Tipo looks exactly like my dad's one - it's done over 200,000miles (TDS) and mechanically very sound - however, being a farmer he's not keen on washing or polishing it!

Another episode Montalbano is unimpressed by a Ferrari and jumps back in the old Tipo!

In case you've missed it, the Young Inspector Montalbano is running on Saturday nights at 9pm, he has the Tipo but it's obviously newer and in better condition! tonights programme featured a Silver Thema and a white Y10.

hopefully recorded it for tonights watching....

Last week a Thema Police car put in appearance and a passing Y10.
Last night there was a Metallic Grey Thema parked up, but going by the wheels it was an 8.32 and looked good enough to have been the genuine article.
I think it's fair to say I'm hooked ::)

although not as good as last year's offerings, 'The Young Montalbano' continues to include continued treats for Lancia fans. Last week a '2000' dressed up as a wedding car - the very same model I owned once.

Frank very much an aquired taste, but once you get hooked :o Young Montalbano isn't as good as the orginal though.
I'm glued to the screen, as I don't understand Italian.

Watched Last Night (23rd) and saw 3 Lancia's. First was a delta, in the dark, second the Doctor again with a Dedra and thirdly a Thema acting as a Taxi.

The younger series appears to have more Lancias than the Older series.
