Title: Dilambda archive in HVA auction on 25th. July
Post by: JohnMillham on 05 July, 2012, 10:04:47 AM
Might be interesting.
LANCIA DiLambda. Interesting file concerning GF 3476, 1930 Lancia DiLambda, property of the late Patrick A T Garland, a distinguished motor racing competitor. Includes the original buff log book issued to Sir Douglas Hall, Bart, of Cadoyan Gardens SW3 on 1st April 1930, also the 2nd owner in 1935 and Patrick Garland who purchased the car in May 1938. Subsequently the car was left with ‘The Plug and Spanner Garage’ in Ashford, Middlesex in 1939; when the premesis was damaged by bombing in October 1940 the Ministry of Supply apparently removed the remains and no more was ever heard of the Lancia. The resulting correspondence and claim for war damage are of considerable interest.

(obviously Cadogan Gardens, but it's a bit late trying to contact him!)
Over to you, Robin.
          Regards, John

The owner of this material contacted me some time back wondering if there might be a Dilambda owner wanting the registration number for a car without one! Not much hope of that! He didn't offer to sell the archive to me and I heard no more.

HVA have a guide of £100 - £120 on it which seems a bit strong. I'll register a much lower bid and see what happens.

Robin.

Robin.
