Title: Aprilia oil pressure gauge calibration Post by: lancialulu on 13 June, 2012, 09:39:53 PM Just thought I would "calibrate" the oil pressure gauge as I had the dash in pieces while sorting the speedo that broke on the SPR.
Well, the needle didnt start to move until 20psi and the lower end of "Normal" was 35psi and the top end of "normal" was 60psi. Interestingly the spare gauge I had was completely different with the lower level 25psi and upper was 45psi. Anyone, know what the oil pressure should be on hot engine at 50mph in 4th??? Also how did you break the winder, normal use or accident ? Speedo cable repaired by me. How long it will last is a bit of a guess... The speedo is metric, so doing 80kmh and the engine was nice and hot. Have never tested the gauge so don't know how accurate it is! I've always used Penrite 15W-40 mineral oil since I got the car. On the last long trip, 1900km she used about 200ml.
