Title: Fitting bulb to Trafficator
Post by: lancialulu on 08 February, 2012, 05:04:11 PM
My MOT man said that as the trafficators are still fitted to my car, and they are still part of the indicating system (ie they pop out when indicator switch is used) they should illuminate (ie they should light up).

The spare part catalogue is vague as to where a bulb should go  in the trafficator arm, but it does indicate that a bulb is fitted in the list of parts.

I was told (I think by Ade) that the bulb is fitted in the housing (the bit that stays in the car) but I have had a look and it does not seem possible.

So question:

Is there a bulb in the arm and if so what is the type and wattage (and how is it fitted)?

Thanks

Tim

PS He passed the car as it had other working indicator lights - but it would be nice to know for future 8)

Tim, if you have the original Carello trafficators there are two bulbs, one in the housing, but this is for the interior lights, and another in the arm itself, for the indicators, both are festoon type bulbs. Sorry I can't remember exactly how the orange lenses are fixed, should be obvious if you pull the arm out.  Ade.
