Title: LHD Lambda for sale
Post by: Sliding Pillar on 20 November, 2011, 02:25:01 PM
This is one of only two (I think) Lambdas produced in LHD.

It was on the Sliding Pillar rally in 2007

Looks lovely but has it been over-restored? I wonder what the price is?

I reckon a good number of left hand drive cars were produced, the parts catalogue lists it as routine, though it is a bit of a bodge with the steering box wedged in behind the magneto.  Interestingly Vincenzo drove a LHD Lambda saloon as his daily car until the very end so clearly approved, though as far as I know LHD was never offered as an option on the Dilambda, Augusta or Astura. But I do recall seeing a LHD Aprilia somewhere.

LHD was an option in 1928/9, the casting for the steering box being on both sides on some cars.  I rescued a 1929 platform chassis from Croatia some years ago which only had the casting on the left, I sold it to Switzerland.  I have only seen one lhd which could be the one for sale.
