Title: 1600 and 2000 Beta Coupes breaking
Post by: Colin on 22 August, 2011, 11:30:23 AM
Have 2 late series coupes which are about to go to scrap.

1600 is Brown X registered about 34k on clock. Rear strut collapsed and welding done on strut but long suffering pal who does the work finally got fed up and abandoned it outside before completing the remainder of the welding by which time it was not running either.  Interior was very good reflecting mileage and suspect engine and box might well be too. Car sadly near Montrose in NE Scotland so that does not help. On SORN

2000 Coupe very rusty at c. 76k and again has sat outside recently-was told it was running but have not tried to start-from paperwork looks like it got a clutch and fuel tank before it was laid up in 1994! Car outside Edinburgh.

Between both cars are some mechanical and body and trim parts which might be of interest so this is basically last call to see if anyone needs anything with the proviso that may lose storage for 2000 coupe shortly and if so will be crushed.

Was going to hang onto these for spares but looks likely will be advertising my spyder shortly and having a clear out!

Have some photos although cannot work out how to upload-can send them on if you pm me.

Colin.

Meant to say when posting photos that those of brown car are sadly from last october and do not think a scottish winter like last year will have improved its looks or condition. my friend Tom who took the photos also commented that they made the car look much better than it was and to warn of the dangers of buying from photos-something that has caught me out on a couple of occasions!

White car photo is current-really that car apart from bonnet and boot/rear lights is really best for mechanical spares.
