Title: Flexible Brake Pipe Retaining Clips
Post by: neil-yaj396 on 04 June, 2011, 01:58:58 PM
How do you remove the clips that retain the flexible hoses to the brackets attached to the body? Naturally these are very rusty. Have tried Betaboyz forum but unusually have had no replies. No mention that they even exist in Haynes, but they must be generic to 70's Lancias??

Hi Niel, I presume it's the small metal clip attached to the mounting on the inner wing ?. If so soak with plenty of WD40, You will notice the clip is made with a right angled tab, you can grab this with a plyers and gently riggle this left and right, The clip is like a horse shoe and it holds the pipe tight against the flange, it should release quite easily. the next problem is un-dooing the union at the top of the flexy pipe. Good luck !  ;) David 8228

Thanks David, I thought it might be a matter of pulling off the clips with pliers but didn't want to break the clips if there was some other method.
