Title: Delta Fuel Problem
Post by: stuwilson128 on 04 April, 2011, 07:46:58 PM
I have had an email from somebody with a 1991 Delta HF Turbo ie which has a fuel problem.  There is plenty of fuel in the tank, but fuel is not being transferred to the fuel pump.  It sounds to me like the fuel pump may be at fault, but does anybody have any suggestions on what it may be?

Any advice will be gratefully received.

I believe there are rubber hoses inside the pump housing that can perish, so the fuel just
re-circulates back to the tank.

worth unsrewing the collar and lifting the pump to check.

Following on from The Colonels tips, are there any strainers or filters before the fuel pump that could be blocked?

Definitely sounds like the fuel filter canister to me, just checked my W/s Manual and it's just forward of the offside front suspension turret under the bonnet (see item 3 in attached) , Dedra and Thema often had this problem as they are far more difficult to get at than a Delta, which suggests ignorance or neglect of proper servicing.
