Title: Solex choke linkage
Post by: lancialulu on 07 October, 2010, 02:57:27 PM
I have just replaced 35 dellotros on my 1.6 Sport with 42 solexs which I acquired recently. However they did not come with the stamped metal choke linkage (black painted steel as shown in the photo of a car with linkage).

I believe these are the same for 35 and 42 twinchoke solexs and maybe 32's as well.

Does anyone have a spare to part with??

Thanks

Tim

I've got some, you'll have to paint them yourself though.

Again the power of the forum! Problem solved - many thanks.

PS I am so glad I changed my 1600 sport back to 42mm solex's from 35 Dellortos. The car is far better for them (no hesitation above 5k in 4th or 5th). Too early to say on fuel economy, and how the Solex's will stay in tune. I seem to have been lucky and picked up a pair that were last used 35 years ago. Their condintion while not new was best I have ever seen on a carb of 40 years old!

Do you mind if I ask what was the reason for changing back? I always seem to hear dellortos being recommended as a sure fire way to improve performance. Was the hesitation in 4th & 5th all the time?
