Post by: chugga boom on 14 September, 2010, 06:24:06 PM
anyone got any ideas who i can use to independantly value my augusta  ??? insurance renewal time and i feel its value has increased over the past 4 yrs especially with all the work thats now been done, eg 4 yrs ago don cross valued my appia at approx 7k however he told me that one in his oppinion not as good as mine has just sold for 10k , so this is my dilemma as all these cars have increased in value and i just want enough cover to replace if ever anything were to happen , any sugestions??

I thought, I know, I'll have a look at valuations in Classic Car!
Sorry, they start with Aprilia :'(

I just googles Lancia Augusta for sale and found one in Switzerland for CHF 35000, an unrestored and very scruffy one for $6500 and a cabrio for $34,500.   You negotiate the agreed value with the insurers and take into account the cost of restoration.  I would suggest at least £15000 if not more.   My Aprilia is currently set at £25000.  It just costs a little more on the premium.
