Title: eldiablo or "the black one"
Post by: thecolonel on 18 August, 2010, 01:14:22 PM
I am considering passing the Black Gamma onto a new keeper,
many will have seen this creation in the past, however, it can
be returned to a standard coupe, if preferred. I still have the
original seat, wheels, suspension etc.

Any serious offers considered.

Is this the wonderful sounding beast I saw in the paddock at Goodwood? Do you have any pics that you could forward to me as I would need to convince 'the management' before making any more irrational decisions. Kind regards,Murf.

Nothing I'm afraid,  classics need to be used, not just once or twice a year, but all the time,
the Gamma is no exception and I don't have the time to do it justice, after all if you have
classic insurance the limit is often 5000 miles per annum, that's almost 100 miles per week
so no reason to leave it in a garage for 90% of the year.

( these are my own opinions and not neccessarily those of the management )  ;D

What are those wheels?   I was expecting some lary aftermarket alloys but they really suit the car.

What are the seats?   I'm going to guess Integrale...

Wheels are standard Ser II sunburst, I merely cut all the fins off with an angle grinder
and then had them spun on a lathe.
Seat are Corbeau Carrera which were recovered in cream leather and tan suede

Having loved and lost a car I put a lot of time, effort, money, and thought into my considered advice is DON'T SELL IT !!!

Anyway - looks gorgeous, what about the suspension and any other bits and bobs?

Hi David,

Suspension is a one off, modified from a WRX STI Imprezza, adjustable height coilovers
with Koni adjustable rebound inserts.

Other bits:  reversing camera/in dash DVD, one-off exhaust system, Omex shift lights, twin headlamp conversion,
triple core radiator, Silver top Facet fuel pump, BF Goodrich Profiler II tyres, front splitter.

probably some other things as well

Keen!!

You have my heartfelt sympathy.  With my car it was the little mods like a floodlight in the boot and some properly robust jacking points I was most fond of.  Lets think what else there was - clutch footrest, relocated throttle, map lights and storage nets, removeable brace in the rear cage, swap the seats from race to Fulvia in five mins, removable mats and sound deadening, interior flood light.  Oil cooler, override for the thermostatic fan, an openable vent in the rear of the bonnet.  Quad washers and a big reservoir made a difference, and a new unscratched screen, and the two speed wipers.  Rear demist.

Any more photos?   Love the seats, and the wheels look absoultely "factory".  I can see heart and soul have gone in.
