Silverstone was wet, but all three Lancias performed well, pics avaliable tomorrow. Prescott today by contrast was social, sunny and hot. Nice to see Mike and Cynthia Wheeler and John Millham with their cars plus the organisers used a pair of Lambdas as marshal transport. Who owns the very nice (series one/two?) Aurelia that was parked in the classic car park? We have galleries from Silverstone and Prescott now at www.retro-speed.co.uk.

That Aurelia had so many bug spats on the front it look like pavlova.

Also got my first glimpse of Mr Rudler's lovely "new" car.

In the camping field was an Aprilia Pinafarina.

Also saw a mid blue Fulvia Zagato for sale in the camping field and spoke to the owner.  Could easily be the same one advertised in Viva this month.  Will post pictures when I empty the camera but the story goes it was raced some years back with the HSCC Road Sports, he lost interest and it sat in a barn, and the current trade owner got it recently and put an MOT on it.  Stains from the tee cut showed it was a last minute rush to tart for Prescot.   Said to be 4.5K of Peter Gerrish engine in it.

I have a limited number of new Weber carbs, not sure for what but they are all the same and could well be Beta/Gamma.

Serial number 32DMT 32 250 9H.

In answer to David's question about the Lambda saloon:

Lambda Castagna Sedan YP 2783, Series 3 from 1924 is owned by Hugh Ross. Hugh has LMC membership number 75. This car (and Hugh!) has been featured in many LMC events over many years.

Isn’t it amazing that such well known historical LMC members and their cars seem to be have lost their place and recognition in the current world of the LMC!

(Stop it Colin, you are in grumpy old man mode again),

Perhaps they will be mentioned 'in dispatches' when the book is published?

Problem is Colin when do we see them other than at mostly VSCC meetings?
Having missed most of the AGM, the only other Lambda I've seen lately was this lovely example at Classics on the Common.

You should have come to the Sliding Pillar Rally Brian, there were a dozen Lambdas, probably the most together other than at the Lambda Fobello trips.  Ade.

Ade,
Wish I had, but I've always thought that the sliding pillar rally was only for sliding pillar cars, have I been wrong all these years :-[

Brian,

You are right. I’ll remind the grumpy old man that it was quite a few years ago when Hugh and his Lambda were regular features at all LMC gatherings.

Also, I think the grumpy old bloke was trying to make the point that David’s question could be easily answered if all LMC members had a copy of a Register of Members and their Cars.

I am lucky enough to still have my copy of the Register issued in 2000 and it’s still useful. Yes, an update and an online version would be wonderful.

Yes it is Brian, but you could have come along on to any of the locations to see the cars, as I mentioned in the events page on this forum. Ade.

Hey guys, could we keep this thread loosely connected with Lancias in competition?

Ha. Ill give it a go. I will be covering the Old Timer GP at Nurbugring starting Friday, this is possibly the largest mainland Europe classic racing event. Any Lancias appearing will be snapped and shown on this thread.
