Title: Aprilia Cabriolet or similar wanted
Post by: fensaddler on 13 April, 2010, 11:54:59 AM
I have been in correspondence with an Italian gentleman who had expressed interest in a car owned by a club member.  This car is not for sale, and there therefore remains very serious interest if anyone is aware of an Aprilia cabriolet for sale - or I imagine another Lancia of similar style and vintage.  The buyer needs a four seater - he has a similar car, but a two seater, but now needs to accommodate a family.  I imagine that this will remain the case for some while, since such a car will not be easy to find - so please bear this one in mind if you hear of something in several months time!

I presume he knows about this one for sale in Argentina  http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/classic-car-page.php/carno/86578  I think it has just about got 4 seats, or it could be 2+2

It looks a very different beast from what he had his eye on, which was much more pre-war in style - very late 30s I think.  Something from the 30s might work just as well, but I confess my knowledge of Lancias that old is pretty poor...

Chris

Having checked 'La Lancia' there is only one Aprilia that fits your description (page 115) and this is tagged 'probably by Pininfarina' almost certainly indicating that the car no longer exists, although it does state that it was a cataloged model.

Think you have got your work cut out on this one Chris!

The car mentioned above is not unlike the Aprilia 'Jeep' made for the Axis military, again, wouldn't have thought there is one in the UK though.

Looking at the picture he sent me, I think it may well be an Astura that he's looking for, so the other thread is useful.

Do you have any more details of the two seater he has?

David

Not much - but I can always ask?
